Welcome to the Saanich Peninsula 4-H Beef and Swine Club

The Saanich Peninsula 4-H Beef & Swine Club has been in operation since 1965 and is part of the South Malahat District.

In the beginning the club only had the beef project under the leadership of Tom and Dolly O’Reilly. The club was always 35+ members strong and the favourite event to attend was the Pacific National Exhibition. Some parents and leaders today belonged to the Saanich Peninsula 4-H Beef Club.

In the 90’s, the club added the swine project to attract more members and also give the beef members an opportunity to carry two different projects and remain with one club.

Today, the club has 6 members and our leaders are Susy Chung-Smith, Laurie Maloney, Julie Pucko, Trevor Dorman and Taelyn Munro. As a club we have attended Prospect 2000, Okanagan Stock Show, Cariboo Classic Junior Steer & Heifer Show, Maple Ridge, Coombs Fair, Cobble Hill Fair, PNE, Saanich Fair and Cowichan Fair.

We are always looking for new members to join and would welcome new members to beef, swine or any other self determined project.
