District Info
The South Malahat District began in 1948 and was lead by a gentleman named Mr. Alex Hall. He had a group of members interested in agriculture that were part of the Boys and Girls Club. The club held one project, Jersey cows. Mr. Hall formed and lead the Saanich Jersey Club. In 1952, the Saanich 4-H Holstein Club came into being and Mr. Hall was still the leader and the projects became Jersey and Holstein cows. Over the years this District has had an average of 150 – 200 members from Sooke to Sidney.
